1. Choose one image of something non-human that possesses a face. This can be something living, like an animal, or non-living, like a character or a robot.
2. Take a photo of your own face.
3. go to this website and follow the directions to morph these two images together.
4. Screenshot the image of this combination when it is somewhere in the middle -- when it looks just a step before fully human.
5. Use this image as a reference for a portrait created in a medium of your choice.

About this Piece
This piece was created as a set of directions that related to the key theme of the uncanny valley. Without revealing what the directions were relating to, they were then given to another artist to realize. The purpose of these directions was to get the artist producing the physical piece of art to think about the dichotomy between human and inhuman. In theory, the result would be some kind of middle ground between an object or non-human and a human face that would possess an uncanniness of its own.
